Northumberland → Nottingham → Rosliston Forestry Centre, Swadlincote
This unique project involved the careful collection, restoration and reinstallation of an outdoor artwork that had been exposed to the elements for approximately four years.
The artwork was initially collected from Morpeth, Northumberland, before being carefully transported back to our construction unit in Nottingham, where we could assess its condition and carry out the necessary restoration work.
The Challenge
After four years of exposure to changing weather conditions, the structure required significant attention before it could be safely and confidently installed at its new home.
Our team carried out a detailed restoration process, including:
Thorough cleaning and preparation of the structure
Sanding back weathered and deteriorated surfaces
Repairs to damaged areas
Treatment and oiling to protect and revive the material
Preparation for transportation and final installation
The aim was to retain the character and original appearance of the artwork while restoring its condition and helping protect it against future exposure.
From Restoration to Reinstallation
Once the restoration was complete, the artwork was transported from our Nottingham unit to Rosliston Forestry Centre, Swadlincote.
Our team then managed the erection and final installation on site, bringing together the different stages of the project — collection, transportation, restoration, repair and installation.
The finished project gave the artwork a new lease of life and allowed it to be enjoyed once again in an outdoor setting.
